President: Darryll J. Pines, Ph.D.

The president is the chief executive officer of the University of Maryland. Ten vice presidents, who report directly to the president, manage different divisions of the campus administration. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute report to the Office of the President. The University Senate, a representative legislative body of the university, advises the president on academic and other matters.
