Authorization

The University of Maryland, College Park is authorized to operate in the state of Maryland by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), http://mhec.maryland.gov. All degree and certificate programs are approved by MHEC and the University System of Maryland.

The University of Maryland, College Park is a participating institution in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), http://nc-sara.org, and is thereby authorized to offer online programs in all participating NC-SARA states and territories.

Individual programs operating in Washington, DC, have been authorized by the Higher Education Licensing Commission of Washington, DC, http://helc.osse.dc.gov.
