Vice President for Belonging: Georgina Dodge, Ph.D.
Belonging & Community at UMD works to cultivate a campus culture where members are valued and supported by upholding human dignity and strengthening community well-being. Belonging offers learning and community-building opportunities for all, academic support, restorative practices for those who have experienced hate or bias, and much more. The department houses several units that offer support to students, including Bias Incident Support Services (BISS), the LGBTQ+ Equity Center, the Nyumburu Cultural Center, the Office of the ADA Coordinator, the Office of Multi-ethnic Student Education (OMSE) and TerrapinSTRONG Education, as well as coordinating with partners across campus.
