Chemistry, Master of Science (M.S.)
Thesis option: 30 credits
Non-thesis option (scholarly paper): 30 credits
Thesis Option
At least 12 of the 24 credits of coursework must be in Chemistry or Biochemistry numbered 600 or higher. In addition, students are required to complete six credits of CHEM799. The thesis option requires a seminar presentation and an oral defense of the thesis.
Non-Thesis Option
At least 18 of the 24 credits of coursework must be in Chemistry or Biochemistry, of which at least 14 credits must be at or above the 600 level. In addition, students are required to complete six credits of CHEM699 and submit a scholarly paper. The scholarly paper is reviewed by a committee of 3 faculty members.
