Graduate Certificate Program
College: Education
ABSTRACT
This program aims to enhance teachers’ ability to teach and lead efforts aimed at transforming pK-12 mathematics education by fostering deep mathematical understanding and promoting instructional practices aligned with contemporary mathematical standards, which uphold ambitious expectations across all grade levels. Additionally, teachers will develop the knowledge and skills to design, assess, and deliver mathematically problem-solving tasks that require students to explain their reasoning, justify solutions, engage in problem solving, construct mathematical arguments, and critique the reasoning of others. Teachers will be prepared to elevate and harness students' diverse social, cultural, linguistic, contextual, and cognitive assets for the learning of mathematics.
