Non-thesis option: 30 credits
The M.A. degree program offers both a thesis and non-thesis option. For the thesis option, the student must complete 24 credits of coursework, 6 credits of MA thesis research (GERS799), and the thesis with oral defense. The non-thesis option requires 24 credits of coursework, 6 credits of Colloquium in German Studies credits (GERS699), and a mini-thesis with oral presentation.
