Graduate Certificate Program
College: Education
ABSTRACT
The Department of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education, in collaboration with the Kennedy Krieger Center for Innovation and Leadership in Special Education has designed this program to strengthen practicing educators' ability to work with students who have intensive behavior needs as a result of an identified disability. Candidates enrolled in the program engage in a series of courses and field experiences designed to strengthen their understanding and application of topics such as the neuroscience of learning, principles of behavior change, school leadership, educational law, and team management so they may help build the capacity within their school system to support the learning of students who have intensive behavior needs.
